Third Marking Period

21A- Intro to Google Sketch

This was very simple because all we had to do for this assignment was change the camera view and then use the different shapes that there are for Google sketch.

21B- 3D Objects

This was also simple because we did the same thing we did in assignment 21A and then we used the push and pull tool and that made the shapes 3 dimensional.

21C- Your Name

The concept of this assignment is simple. All you have to do is write your name out using the shapes in Google sketch. This could be very simple or a little bit difficult depending on the letters in your name. Some letters are harder to create than others.

Block 11

8*6*6

Block 12

9*4*6

These blocks weren't very hard. There were some blocks that were harder than others. The hardest blocks were the ones that required the slanted surface. To make the block as close to the blocks we were copying in size we needed to use the tape measure tool a lot. To make sure the blocks were the same size we counted the diamonds on the reference image and used those measurements as feet. To actually adjust the size of the blocks we used the push and pull tool. In some cases the block needed to be marked I used the line tool to make the marks. When there was a piece of block that needed to be shortened or just taken away I used the push pull tool. For the blocks that had the slanted surface I used the move tool on the corner of the block and moved it until the surface became flat and slanted.

23- Gingerbread house

The gingerbread house wasn't hard to create. For this I used Google sketch up. The only thing required to do this were squares, triangles and circles. The hardest part of making the house was making the  icing loops on the roof. Besides that, this was easy.

24- Did not do

25-Animated Button

The glowing button was kind of difficult to create. The hardest part of making the glowing button was actually making the button glow. There weren't that many steps to making this. There weren't many tools used for this. The most used tool was the ellipse tool to create the circles. To make the button have the rings I had to add noise and then do a radial blur. To make the button glow I first downloaded the power symbol. Next, I had to adjust the layer style to the original button. After I had to create a new group and with this group I made the button turn on and off. I had to adjust the layer style again and make the symbol green. To make the button actually turn on and off I went back to the original power symbol and opened the animation panel. That creates an image of the button off. Then, I duplicate the button, but use the button on instead. After selecting both the on and off button I select tween after clicking the grey arrow and that creates all of the phases between the button turning on and off. I reversed the frames so the button goes from on to off instead of off to on. After changing the delay time and pressing the play button the button turns on and off.

26-showcase

This was a little hard to make because there were so many steps. The first step was to make a black rectangle. After making the rectangle I made the ruler tool visible and used them as guides for the size of the rectangle. After adjusting the guides I began making the foundation. I used the rectangle tool to fill in the left and right walls. Next comes the floor, ceiling, and middle. Next I adjusted the perspective of the floor to make the room look three dimensional. I did this to all of the corners of the room. Next I changed the the layer styles of the walls, floor, ceiling, and back wall. To make the lights I used the ellipse tool, adjusted the layer style, and then added a smaller white circle to make a light. I copied this to make all three lights. next, using the elliptical marquee tool I made the shadow of the light on the floor and also created the light path going straight down. After this i took my picture and placed it under each light.

This semester I used Photoshop for the first time. I learned a lot from this semester. I learned how to alter images and make things. I also used Google sketch up for the first time. That is good for making geometric shapes.

Second Marking Period

11- club flyer (did not do)

12- texture via layer mode

The point of this assignment was to change the texture on an article of clothing. I chose the dress in the first picture. I chose a texture of stars. It wasn't very hard to add the star texture to the dress. The first thing you have to do is use the magnetic lasso and trace the entire dress. Then you have to make a it so that the texture is the same size as the dress. Then you have to merge it. When you merge it, the texture transfers to the dress. I changes the opacity and the layer type.

13- Change one thing poster

This task required a lot of merging. It was not very difficult to do. This was mostly re sizing and making it so that the potatoes were the same size as the donuts. After the re sizing the only thing left to do was make it so that the image looked like a poster.

14- Jack O'Lantern
This assignment wasn't very hard. First you have to find a picture of a pumpkin. Then you d to apply an inner glow effect to the background of the pumpkin. After you had to use the pen tool and draw on the face of the jack o'lantern. When you draw the shapes each ends up as its own layer so you have to merge the layers. Then you have to apply  different effects to the merged layers so that the face looks like it is cut out and the inside is glowing.

15a&b- Creating a "painted" effect on a wall then a face

There wasn't many steps for this, but every step was very important. When you open both the background wall and the foreground you have to unlock both of them and place them on the same document. Next you have to change the blending mode of the foreground. After that you have to duplicate the background and change the color to gray by desaturating it. Then you apply a Gaussian Blur. You next have to apply a displacement and save it. When you open it on the image there is a slight blur depending on how much you distorted the image. To make it seem more realistic you change the blending option of the background to hard light. To make it seem more natural you lower the opacity.

16- Smart filtering with motion blur

This assignment was not hard. The first thing we had to do was find a picture of something that would move fast, but wasn't moving in the image itself. After opening the picture as a smart object  you have to filter in a motion blur. You chose how much of a blur you would like. Next you use the brush tool and , using black as the foreground color, you paint over what you don't want to be blurred. In this case it was the car so the car seems to be moving quickly.

17- Quick masking to add a desire effect

This wasn't very hard. The first thing you have to do after opening the image and unlocking the background is make the foreground color black. Next click the quick mask button then the brush tool, adjust the brush size to fit what you are changing, and paint over the area that you are changing. Change white to the foreground color and there is a dotted line around the selected are with that you can paint over anything that you accidentally colored. After that you can apply what you want to change.

18-Soft filtering skin tones

There weren't many steps for this. After opening the image you have to duplicate the background. Next you convert to smart filters then apply a Gaussian Blur. You choose how blurred you want the image to be. After that you change the blending mode to screen, causing the image to become lighter and then apply a layer mask. Then you have to use the brush tool , adjust the size to outline the eyes, then click on the airbrush thumbnail. Change the opacity to 40% and paint over the eyes and other important features.

19- USB drive

The first thing you have to do is create a rectangle that is 175 px by 300 px. After centering the image you have to use the ellipse tool and create the bottom part of the USB drive. After aligning them select both shapes and unite them using pathfinder. Next fill the shape with a gradient. Then select the rectangle tool and make two smaller rectangles also filling it with the same gradient. After that select the rectangle and give it an arc (do that to both rectangles). Next create three squares making each one smaller than the one before and giving the same gradient to the largest and smallest squares. Align the three squares at the top of the smaller rectangles and create two small rectangles that are the same size and create the line between them using the pen tool. Using the rounded rectangle tool create a white rectangle to put in the center of the USB drive. Make a -3 px offset path and fill it with a gradient. Finally add all the texts to the USB drive.

20- Marking period 2 test cordless phone

There were many steps in this assignment. This assignment consisted of a lot of gradients and making a lot of different offset paths. There was also some grouping so that any changes that needed to happen to multiple things happened at the same time instead of having to do everything individually. This assignment wasn't very hard as long as you follow the instructions. The most difficult part was making sure that while you are doing this that everything is symmetrical and  it actually looks like a phone. This was a bit tedious because of all the small details.
